I took this photography in Dublin, Ireland. A man is standing, resting on a wall where photos of other people are displayed, and he seems at first glance to disappear, to become parts of the scene painted on the wall.
A deeper look will immediately reveal the difference, but it is enough to be for an instant the victim of the illusion. It reminds me that things are not always at it seems, and we should not take for granted the information we receive from our senses. There is always a need for transparency, for “cleaning” the filters which are standing between us and the reality. This is an daily work, it is an habit to gain, a way of life.
It is easy with a photography to create illusions, but it can also reveals us the illusions around us.Back to Gallery
